DFY x Sport at the heart

Supporting Sport in the Heart, an amazing Harlesden charity, with their Sports Festival for Women and girls.

This past Saturday DFY Football Academy was given the chance to do a football taster session at the Sport at the Heart's Sports Festival for Girls and Women.

DFY Football Academy was pleased to be included in the line up of local sporting providers who are looking to improve the local access to sports for women and girls in the Brent area. The sports festival was inclusive and welcoming and attracted lots of enthusiastic participation.

Lots of eager young girls wanted to find out more about how they can get into football and joined in with the training session led by our Head Coach. We even had a visit by the first black muslim female FA qualified referee Jawahir Roble, who had a quick chat with our DFY Academy team and spoke about the impact women's football is having at the moment.

All in all it was a great fun filled day - we are actively recruiting for our girls football team, training out of Stonebridge recreation ground NW10. Please get in touch with Nazia@dfy.org.uk if you would like to find out more!
